Dora, affectionately called “Dorinha,” is the adopted daughter of Marta M. Infamara. Dora’s biological father, Marta’s brother, passed away in 2018. Following the traditions of the Balanta ethnic group, Dora’s biological mother remarried and could not bring her children into the new marriage, so Dora was raised by her father’s family.

Dora now lives with her adoptive parents in a household of four. Recently, Marta won a scholarship to study in Portugal for an undetermined period, leaving Dora in Guinea-Bissau with her father.

Dora is a lively and very intelligent girl who enjoys playing with friends, reading, and learning new things. In the 2024–2025 academic year, she was the best student in her class, achieving an outstanding average grade of 19 out of 20. Despite the changes in her family situation, she continues to show resilience, dedication to her studies, and a love of learning.
